Meet our Board of Directors

Jill Scheidel, CEO

With many years of philanthropic experience and global business as a Program Manager, Jill brings a passion to GWK to fulfill the needs of our underserved communities and to honor and respect our American MIA.

Jill has worked in a variety of industries throughout her 45 year career including international wireless telecom business development, an estate operations officer for the California Department of Insurance, manager of utilities and HOA for a real estate investment trust, general manager to construct an indoor skydiving wind tunnel, and expert Program Manager for PG&E. She has also been a team leader and participant for multiple world record skydiving events. “I’m a project manager by trade, and to me everything is a project so my skills have proven to be very transferable.”

Jill leads the way in fundraising efforts, whether it be for children, unhoused families, elderly and for animal rescue organizations as well as partnering with Resolute Promise to bring home those who gave their last full measure of devotion. Jill is a team leader that fully respects and appreciates all those involved in reaching goals and making the dreams happen.

Kim Forrester, Secretary & Director

Kim Forrester brings strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills to serve the needs of others. Some of Kim’s past special projects include organizing community-wide food drives and hunger awareness programs. She has enhanced the lives of birth to three-year-old special needs children, one-on-one in their natural environment with knowledge and creativity to represent herself to the families as a support system, satisfying their children’s needs through research and general communication.

Her lifetime work has been in the printing field, running a business for the past 45 years. Since retirement she maintains a small clientele for which she fills their printing needs.

Kim is compassionate, empathetic and creative while always improving her skills in the kitchen. She is dedicated to her faith and, of course, her love of animals. “I am honored to join the GWK team.”

William R. Belcher, PhD, D-ABFA, RPA

Dr. Bill Belcher is a board-certified forensic anthropologist and archaeologist who is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology, University of Nebraska-Lincoln (GBR!). Belcher received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997 (Go Badgers!). Between 1998 and 2019, Belcher served in a variety of positions with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency and its predecessors and retired as the Deputy Laboratory Director of the Hawaii facility. While with the DPAA, Belcher conducted over 60 deployments regarding investigation, recovery/excavation operations, and forensic reviews of cases involving missing U.S. service members. He has deployed throughout Europe, the west coast of the United States, various Pacific Islands, India, Southeast Asia, Iraq/Kuwait, and North Korea. Within his academic position, he still leads teams of students and professionals in recovery efforts for missing U.S. service members, most recently in Germany, France, and India. Belcher currently serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Molly Locklin, Director & Entrepreneur

I joined this board of directors with the passion to be a part of an organization that would charge forward doing good works. The potential to make a difference is the backbone of GWK and I am proud to be a part of the guidance team. Early career included years as catalog and advertising director for The North Face then subsequently owned a marketing/advertising consulting business with various clients in the outdoor industry. Currently I'm in the acting role of finance and administrative management for a large family trust in the Bay Area for 15 years. 

Jennifer Powers, Director

Nearing three decades of philanthropic work for various causes near and dear to my heart. 

Having founded and lead a 501(c)(3) for over a decade, I am extremely proud to be able to bring this experience to support The Good Works Kitchen’s vision of community service. 

Nick Thompson, Director

Nick Thompson is a strategic technical executive bringing a dynamic background in developing and implementing transformational strategies designed to propel revenue, optimize operations, and enable rapid, sustainable organizational growth. He is an influential, innovative leader who operates at the forefront of technology. Nick is known for aligning business and technical outcomes, positioning teams for success, and exponentially increasing value to internal stakeholders and customers.

Nick leverages a robust business and industry acumen within change management, strategic planning, and team leadership to disrupt the status quo, improve processes, enhance performance, and capitalize on new opportunities. He instills a trust-based culture, uncovers employee strengths, removes roadblocks, and takes calculated risks to drive unprecedented efficiency gains.

Nick Lives in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle, WA with his wife, daughter and Boxer.

Brannely Turpin, Director

Brannely is a quiet patriot and Marine born on October 5th, 1974, and grew up as the oldest of four siblings in a large extended family that spanned between Sacramento and Carmel. After graduating from Jesuit High School in 1993, he joined the Marine Corps in 1997.

Brannely spent most of his military career as a Crew Chief and door gunner with HMH-466 Wolfpack. During his time with HMH-466, He earned his Weapons and Tactics Instructor Certificate at the Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics School in Yuma, Arizona. Brannely deployed to Okinawa, Japan, and also in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), spending six months in the Gulf supporting operations in Kuwait and Iraq.

After completing his military service, Brannely pursued higher education by attending San Diego City College before being admitted to UC Berkeley, where he earned his BA in Anthropology in 2008. 

Today, Brannely spends most of his time with his long-term partner, Jancy Quinn, and their three nieces and a nephew. In his free time, he volunteers as a backcountry ski patroller with the Tahoe Backcountry Ski Patrol and supports veterans making the transition from the military to the civilian workforce.
